Wiz Khalifa explains ‘O.N.I.F.C.’ cover art, says it ‘should give you confidence’ | Music News

Monday night’s unveiling of the cover art to Wiz Khalifa‘s O.N.I.F.C. album had the entire rap world and Twitterverse talking, as many were surprised, appalled, disappointed, amused — like this guy, who compared the look to Martin Lawrence’s “King Beef” character — or just plain confused by Wiz’s choice of attire. Earlier this evening, the Taylor Gang boss took to his own Twitter account to address the chatter and explain his reasoning behind the look.

“I’m helpin’ everyone get in touch with their inner sleaze,” the lanky, tattooed MC wrote. “If you don’t wanna let it out, I’ll express it for you.”

He went on to say that the artwork “should give you confidence and let you know you can fully be yourself in front of people no matter what they say or think.”

Of all the criticisms you could possibly have of Wiz, one thing you’ll probably never say is that he’s afraid. It takes a brave and confident man to wear a leopard-print fur and striped skinny jeans period, let alone at the same damn time.

O.N.I.F.C. drops September 18th. Check out Wiz’s full statement below. (Read from the bottom up.)
