will.i.am to premiere new song “Reach for the Stars” on Mars | Music News

No need to take a second look, you read that right. Yes, The Black Eyed Peas star and The Voice judge will.i.am has chosen a suitably astronomical platform to premiere his new song “Reach for the Stars”: on the surface of Mars.

Of course, the music mogul won’t be flying to the Red Planet himself (I shouldn’t have to point out how impractical such a suggestion is). The track, which will feature on his upcoming solo album #willpower (out October 16th), will be played through the speakers of the robot rover, Curiosity, who successfully landed on Mars earlier this month.

NASA officials will host a special listening event for will.i.am’s new song for students at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California tomorrow (August 28th).
