will.i.am donates £500k ‘The Voice UK’ earning to Prince’s Trust youth charity

Songwriter, producer and Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am has donated his £500k salary from his coaching stint on The Voice UK towards young peoples charity The Princes Trust.

The musician founded his own charity the i.am.angel foundation in 2009 and has since transformed the lives of many in The United States, by providing scholarships to talented youngsters and rescuing families from foreclosure, and has also recently launched a car company in Boyle Heights, LA; the area in which he grew up with hopes of providing jobs to many of the citizens.

The rapper has now shifted his sights from East Los Angeles to East London and hopes that his collabration with The Princes Trust will provide working opportunities for underpriviledged youngsters, with a particular emphasis on the technology sector.

“Working with The Prince’s Trust, I am joining the mission to help transform the lives of disadvantaged young people living in under-privileged neighbourhoods in the UK,” says will.i.am in an official statement.

“My donation to The Trust will help these young people build skills that are vital in today’s and tomorrow’s job market including technology and computer knowledge.”
