Some of music’s biggest stars turned out to celebrate Whitney Houston‘s life and musical career as part of last night’s CBS-aired TV special, We Will Always Love You: A GRAMMY Salute to Whitney Houston.

The performances were strong testament to the legacy which Whitney left behind. Jennifer Hudson struggled to hold back tears as she performed a stunning medley of Houston hits, including “I’m Every Woman”, “How Will I Know” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”, whilst Celine Dion paid tribute to the original diva with her own rendition of “The Greatest Love of All”, and RnB superstar Usher performed “I Believe in You and Me” from The Preacher’s Wife soundtrack.

The show, which was presented by the likes of Britney Spears, Halle Berry and LL Cool J and attended by members of Whitney’s family, also played some of the most memorable TV clips from Whitney’s career.  Footage from the superstar’s first-ever television appearance was shown alongside her iconic performances at the ’91 Super Bowl and the ’94 Grammys.

Altogether it looks like it was a fantastic and moving night .Watch some of the stand-out performances below:
