Trina f/ Kid Cadet, Vinny Venditto – “Outer Space” | New Music

“Outer Space” featuring Kid Cadet and producer Vinny Venditto  is rapper Trina’s first official single from her forthcoming sixth studio album this year. The pop song samples Gloria Gaynor’s disco classic “I Will Survive” and is a expression of strength, something Trina felt she never had after being able to recover from a break up.

Unbeknown to some, Trina has been undergoing a transitional phase in her career with an evident change in her image, sound and vocal delivery. Famed for her brash and ‘female boss-like’ outbursts over dirty southern hip hop instrumentals, she has opted to take a new trip down the commercially viable electro pop avenue – a euro dance path that has plagued our radio waves for the past three to four years.

One could state that this re-invention is an attempt to keep up with international heavyweights such as Nicki Minaj – and (unless you think otherwise) you can tell that both music styles are similar. As expected, Trina’s new found musical direction has welcomed these comparisons but with that said, this could potentially be the track that gains Trina the global recognition she seeks.

Trina feat. Kid Cadet and Vinni Venditto’s “Outer Space” is out now.
