Trey Songz planning a new album for 2011

Trey Songz has revealed to Billboard.com that he would like to release an album this year. “I want to release an album this year,” the Atlanta-based R&B singer tells Billboard.com. Only released in September 2010, his fourth album, Passion, Pain & Pleasure is still spawning hits, with the Nicki Minaj assisted “Bottoms Up” still in the US charts and “Love Faces” garnering radio play.

About the new project he continues, “We’re starting in the studio now. I’m always thinking about music. I’m in the studio whenever I can be. I’m not pressed or in a rush to make an album right now, but I always have a need to make music.”

However, it’s still early days yet and when asked if he’d decided on the musical direction of the forthcoming album Songz responded, “No, not right now. I’m feeling very creative, though, so it may be something I’ve never done before. There’s always a certain amount of pressure there, but I like that. With every album, I definitely want to grow my audience as well as myself.”

In related news, Trey Songz will be supporting Ne-Yo for his UK tour, which begins this month and hits London 26th February.
