Tre DeJean – “Time Zone” (Prod. by 88-Keys) | New Music

A new artist fresh out of producer 88-Keys‘ Locksmith Music camp, Arlington, TX native Tre DeJean makes a solid introduction with “Time Zone,” set to feature on the forthcoming Mick Boogie-hosted Locksmith mixtape Ready/Set, as the rapper recounts his travelling tales on the come-up.

Known for crafting soundscapes for the likes of The Pharcyde, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Musiq Soulchild, Consequence, Beanie Sigel and, more recently, Jay Z and Kanye West‘s “No Church In The Wild” [featuring Frank Ocean, from the rap duo’s album Watch The Throne], 88 Keys’ debut concept album The Death Of Album was released in 2008 to critical acclaim. Featuring songs with Kid Cudi, Bilal, J*DaVeY, Phonte, Redman, Shitake Monkey and Kanye, who also executively produced the project, if you didn’t catch it first time around the LP’s well worth checking out.

But right now, familiarise yourself with Tre DeJean’s mellow flow rolling effortlessly over 88’s melodic beat-bed on “Time Zone” – and take a listen to the Locksmith Music Mixtape for an introduction to more of the roster.
