THURZ f/ Jarell Perry – “Keep Livin” | New Music

With the August release of his debut album LA Riot and his subsequent September mixtape project 517 W Queen (which came complete with some memorable visuals), LA rapper THURZ has had a busy second half of 2012, but he’s showing no sign of let-up as the year draws to a close.

Here’s a new track from the fierce West Coaster, entitled “Keep Livin” and set to appear on his next album Blood on the Canvas, due in the first quarter of 2013. Over synth-led production from Phonix Beats and DJ Khalil, the former U-N-I man lets us know that he’ll carry the torch for hip hop as long as he lives (despite Mayan pessimism and apocalyptic views of the game), whilst vocalist Jarell Perry provides a smooth hook, singing “We’ve got problems, it ain’t like we can’t solve them / everything ain’t good on the surface, but everything feels good when it’s worth it / aint no problems as long as we, keep livin’, keep’ livin”.
