Thundercat hits us with another thumping track from his upcoming sophomore album Apocalypse in the form of “O Sheit It’s X”, a thoroughly funky (and humourous) disco jam. Co-produced by his Brainfeeder brother Mono/Poly and head honcho Flying Lotus, the song carries a strong party feel, and the DNA of all three artists can be heard in the song. If you’re feeling the tune, which I think it’s safe to say you are, I thoroughly suggest checking out Mono/Poly’s 2010 album Paramatma, as the similar vibes can be heard throughout the album in tracks like “Let’s Take a Trip” and “Nexplore”.

With FlyLo and Thundercat currently at work on a “crazy Jazz album” (that isn’t Apocalypse in case you get them confused) featuring the one and only Herbie Hancock, if “Oh Sheit It’s X” is a preview of what’s to come then we’re in for a treat.

Check out the track below, and UK fans can see Thundercat live with Slugabed and Kutmah at the UK launch party for Apocalypse at Bethnal Green’s York Hall on July 13th. Tickets are available here.
