The xx begin work on sophomore album | Music News

The xx were 2010’s breakthrough act, winning a prestigious Mercury Music Prize for their self-titled debut album and making a massive impact on the sound of popular music.  Yesterday, the three-piece from London announced via Facebook that they had begun work on their anticipated sophomore album, and celebrated this with the launch of a new blog, on which they promised to post their “inspirations + pictures + favourite songs”. Genuinely refreshing to see one of the UK’s biggest bands using Tumblr just like a teenage girl would.

Whilst the band have been gone, Jamie xx has been busy, releasing a well-received remix album with Gil-Scott Heron and even popping up as the producer of the title track of Drake‘s new album Take Care, which features Rihanna.
