The Weeknd to re-release mixtape trilogy | Music News

Last week, one of 2011’s breakout artists, The Weeknd released Echoes of Silence, his third mixtape in a year and the final part of a trilogy that also included critically-acclaimed debut House of Balloons and follow-up Thursday. The Toronto native capped off a banner year by dropping the well-received project, which most notably opened with a storming cover of Michael Jackson classic “Dirty Diana“. With fans and the industry waiting on his next move, The Weeknd took to Twitter to announce that next year he would be re-releasing the mixtape trilogy, presumably for retail, as a remastered package with additional features.

Will be interesting to see which label (if any) he signs with.
