The Stepkids f/ Pharoahe Monch x Homeboy Sandman – “Suburban Dream” (Remix) | New Music

Stones Throw-signed trio The Stepkids may have released their self-titled debut album back in September, but only now do they return for some remix treatment. Recruiting revered New York lyricists Pharoahe Monch and Homeboy Sandman, the collective give the “Suburban Dream” cut a lyrical makeover and layer some electro-infused Boom Bap over the top of the original instrumental.

The Sandman’s been keeping us entertained and puzzled at the same time with lyrical offerings like “Cops Get Scared of Me“, but it’s been a minute (a minute too long if you ask me) since we’ve heard the Pharoahe go to work on a beat. Good to have him back.

Stream the new track below and purchase The Stepkids LP via the Stones Throw store >HERE. A sure recommendation for those who enjoy their music a little more eclectic.
