Talib Kweli f/ Ace Hood – ‘Let ‘Em In’ | New Music

As HHNM outlines, this track came out a few days ago and obviously slipped under everyone’s radar (damn you, 4/20). Yes, the new offering from Talib Kweli, “Let ‘Em In,” sees the BK wordsmith tangle with DJ Khaled‘s beastly sidekick Ace Hood over this energetic, drum-heavy number.

The collaboration may come as an unwanted surprise for some, but if you’ve been paying attention to Mr. Kweli’s Twitter timeline (@TalibKweli), maybe we shouldn’t be so elitist about who our favourite rappers work with.

“I don’t rate an artist based on what I grew up listening to. I rate an artist based on what THEY grew up listening to… Judging an artist by solely their radio hits is just as bad as ignoring an artist for trying to be conscious. 2 sides of the same coin… Is every n***a with dreads for the cause? Is every n***a with golds for the fall? Your favorite mc said that,” he ranted, in what is most likely a response to this very track.

Ace Hood may not match Talib for lyrical aptness, but he certainly brings out his fierce nature on this track. Stream below and find it on We Run This Vol. 7, which is out now on iTunes.
