T.I. talks collaborations with A$AP Rocky + André 3000 on ‘Trouble Man’ | Music News

T.I. made an unwelcome announcement earlier this month when he delayed the release of his already long-overdue eighth studio album, Trouble Man. The record was previously scheduled to arrive on September 4th, but a new timescale hasn’t been announced.

Fans have already been treated to three stellar singles – “Like That“, “Love This Life” and “Go Get It” – from the forthcoming project, but it sounds like there are plenty more on the way. In a recent interview with Rap-Up, the Grand Hustle boss spoke on his numerous collaborations on the LP, including one with A$AP Rocky.

“That record is called ‘Wildside.’ No I.D. did it and I’m basically just narrating my childhood and what I come from and giving people some insight into why I am the way I am and why some of the things that happen to me only happen to me and they wouldn’t happen to anyone else ’cause they’re specific in my upbringing.”

Tip went on to share his two cents on Rocky and his Always Strive and Prosper movement, and showered him with praise.

“I think he’s dope. I think he’s very creative. I think he’s got an enormous amount of potential and opportunity. His next couple moves are going to determine the level of success of his debut,” he said.

In addition to working with the new generation, T.I. will also share the mic with some of hip-hop’s – specifially the South’s – veterans. Confirming the rumours, famed OutKast emcee André 3000 will guest on the record. He detailed the direction of their collaboration, entitled “Sorry”.

“The André 3000 record is entitled ‘Sorry’ [produced by Jazze Pha]. It’s just more narration of life and the reasons why I should not be sorry for anything that I’ve endured, for anything that I’ve gone through, and the reason why I don’t owe motherfuckers any apologies,” he said. “I’ve come all this way from zero. I ain’t got no reason to say sorry to anybody. It’s probably one of the most creative records I’ve done in a long time.”

In the discussion, T.I. said it is “60-70%” likely that Trouble Man will be released before the end of the year.
