T.I. signs with Hip Hop Since 1978 management | Music News

Sans the incident(s) that went down at Club Compound in ATL, things seem to be going swimmingly for the self-proclaimed Kang of The South since his *cough* second recent release from the big house. Not only did he almost shout the Hip Hop blogosphere down with his Big K.R.I.T-assisted heat rock “I’m Flexin'”, he also also blacked out on Hov and Ye‘s “Ni***s In Paris” instrumental.

Now with his soon to be released fiction novel Power & Beauty on the way, young Clifford has made another power move by signing a management deal with powerhouse Hip Hop Since 1978 (HHS78). The management and production company which built its reputation off the back of the success of their first client Kanye West is now home to Drake, Lil Wayne, Grammy Award winning producer Just Blaze and Young Jeezy, who signed with the team back in 2009.

Speaking on the deal with the good folks over at HipHopDX, Tip stated that the moved came to fruition as a result of his friendship with HHS78 co-founder Gee Roberson, former VP of A&R at Atlantic and current Chairman at Geffen.

“Gee’s always been a big part of our operation just not in the capacity of manager,” said T.I. of Roberson, who is co-CEO at HHS1978. “[From] the executive producer standpoint and A&R standpoint, he made gigantic contributions to probably the past three or four T.I. albums, but he’s assumed a large responsibility over at Geffen so that kind of took a big part of my team away.

“When [Jason Geter] and I both agreed that we would be considering expanding the management team, and then sat down and talked about possible candidates, he was definitely one of the first people that came up.”

Congrats to you sir… keep up the good work!
