Styles P freestyles on 106 & Park’s “The Backroom” [Video]

As Styles P supports the release of his latest album The World’s Most Hardest MC, he lays down his credentials for that title with a freestyle for BETs 106 & Park.

The Ghost always sounds good over haunting choral instrumentals, and with Technician The DJ behind the ones and twos serving up a beat that sounds something like a sped-up take on the second half of Kendrick Lamar’s “Sing About Me, I’m Dying Of Thirst” , P is able to take us through a day in his life with typical gravitas. His freeverse, riddled with street references and alluding to Queens’ mafioso rap pioneer Kool G Rap, is as hardcore as any we’ll hear in The Backroom all year, even if it’s a little weaker than it should be because certain words are censored.
