Passionate aggressive interview with Spike Lee and BBC Newsnight’s Jeremy Paxman on changing race relations in America since Lee made Do The Right Thing. In the interview which aired a few weeks ago, the two argue about the impact of Barack Obama’s election on modern day racism.
My personal favourite snippet:
Spike Lee: Look. How long have you been black?
Jeremy Paxman: I’ve never been black.
Spike Lee: Thank you very much. So, as someone who’s been living in America for two years and whose ancestors were slaved for a hundred years, I’ll try and answer your question: Yes, racism still exists in the United States of America.
