Snapshot: Slaughterhouse + Beastie Boys cover The Source magazine

The Source are running with not one, but two of hip-hop’s most respected crews for their latest issue. Shady Records stalwarts Slaughterhouse will grace the cover of the primary issue, coinciding with the release of their debut album Welcome To: Our House, due out in July, while Beastie Boys, earning their very first cover of the self-proclaimed “Hip-Hop Bible”, front a separate collector’s copy.

In the new issue, Joe, Royce, Joell and Crooked I discuss the gripes of the industry; “I almost despise a lot of aspects that come along with this industry. All the red tape. All the politics. Everything that is in between me and my direct talent and the fans. The industry will jade you. The A**hole I am today is the man that y’all created,” Budden rants.

Meanwhile, The Source pay tribute to the Beasties and their fallen member Adam “MCA” Yauch, who tragically passed away last month following a three-year battle with cancer, in their “Licensed to Skill” feature, which includes input from industry vets, Russell Simmons and Dante Ross.

The new issue of The Source hits stands on June 28th. Watch the video below to “UnCover” Slaughterhouse’s Reservoir Dogs-esque shoot.
