Snapshot: Chance The Rapper covers Dazed & Confused

Dazed and Confused Chance

Dazed & Confused‘s latest issue is dedicated to the year, 1993. It’s not really showcasing a blast from the past but more in celebration of up-and-coming artists, actors, and other creative types who were born on 1993.

Among them is Chance The Rapper, who nabbed his first magazine cover while representing his new age contemporaries. Dazed & Confused describes those born in ’93 as the first generation to “live wholly in the age of the browser.” Mind blowing, isn’t it? I’m not trying to age myself but I was already in high school when I fist signed up for MySpace (back when Tom was everyone’s friend). My, how time flies.

Back to our cover star, without the internet to spread the word about his music, Chance’s most recent mixtape, Acid Rap, would not have garnered 50,000 downloads in just two days. He’s relatively new to the scene, unsigned and perfectly ok with it, for now. At 20, he understands the power of the internet probably way more than a 30-year-old. But don’t worry, you (the 30-year-old) aren’t old, it’s just a generational thing.

Chance’s cover issue of Dazed & Confused is out on newsstands today.
