Snapshot: Azealia Banks covers Paper magazine’s Summer music issue

Despite a few chops, changes and 140-character outbursts, Azealia Banks is still one of the names for the Summer. Donning a giant gold-plated Mickey Mouse neck piece (eat your heart out, T-Pain), the Harlem-hailing rapper (sorry, dance artist) graces the cover of Paper magazine’s special edition Summer music issue.

To accompany the sassy snapshots, Ms. Banks spoke on the inspiration behind her breakout song “212“, choosing to live in L.A., life in the public eye and the advice she received from Interscope chairman, Jimmy Iovine for the cover story. Additionally, the magazine cover lists a “212” phone number (the area code for New York City which inspired her aforementioned hit), which fans are encouraged to dial and leave a message for the 21-year-old artist.
