Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings return this Spring with their fourth album on Daptone Records: I Learned The Hard Way. Produced by Bosco Mann, I Learned the Hard Way was recorded on an Ampex eight-track tape machine by Gabriel Roth in Daptone Records’ House of Soul studios.  The album is fondly described on the band’s blog as dripping with “a warmth and spontaneity rarely found since the golden days of Muscle Shoals and Stax”.

Both with their own albums and their work with other artists, the Dap-Kings have been doing their part to revive the raw energy of classic funk and soul.  In the past couple of years they have collaborated with the likes of Mark Ronson, Ben Westbeech and Michael Buble – and they notably feature on the majority of Amy Winehouse‘s Back To Black album, also forming the backing band for her debut US tour.

I Learned The Hard Way is due for release on May 4th 2010 on Daptone Records.
