Seye – “Spoons” (Rudimental cover) | New Music

Deep in South East London lays a hidden gem in the form of singer Seye. The singer (who pronounces his name Shey-ah) is now stranger to music as it runs strongly through his genes; Seye happens to be the brother of Gbenga from Metronomy. Following his single “White Noise” in April, he took on a cover of Rudimental‘s “Spoons,” which originally featured MNEK and Syron.

The original version (which takes a move in the soulful house direction) is great as it is but as I pressed play on this, it was wiped from my memory. Seye takes the song to a new height in his own acoustic version, stripping back to just his voice and guitar. Take a listen below.
