Seal, Donna Summer, BeBe Winans & Stevie Wonder to honour Barbra Streisand: 2011 MusiCare’s Person of the Year

A host of names are set to honour legendary singer Barbra Streisand as 2011 Musicare’s Person of the Year. The annual Person of the Year gala celebrates it’s 21st year this year. The proceeds from the event go to MusiCares, an organisation which ensures that musicians and people working in music have a place to turn in times of financial, medical and personal need.

Past Person of the Year honourees include Tony Bennett, Bono, Natalie Cole, Phil Collins, David Crosby, Neil Diamond, Gloria Estefan, Aretha Franklin, Don Henley, Billy Joel, Elton John, Quincy Jones, Luciano Pavarotti, Bonnie Raitt, Paul Simon, Sting, James Taylor, Brian Wilson, Stevie Wonder, and Neil Young.

To celebrate Ms. Streisand’s extensive artistic achievements as well as her philanthropic work, fellow icon Stevie Wonder, jazz musician Herbie Hancock, Barry Manilow, LeAnn Rimes, Tony Bennett, Seal, Donna Summer, BeBe Winans, Diana Krall and Glee cast Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison and Darren Criss are just some of the names performing in her honour. The gala will also see Ms. Streisand herself performing.

The event is taking place on Friday 11th February in LA, and also coincides with the GRAMMY Award weekend, which will see the GRAMMY Awards take place on Sunday 13th.
