Ryan Leslie liberates “Joan Of Arc” for free download | New Music

Since announcing his upcoming independent album, Les Is More, Ryan Leslie seems to have been particularly busy working away in the recording booth for months; check out his recently premiered songs ““Breathe” featuring Mr Hudson, “Maybachs & Diamonds” and “Beautiful Lie”, not to mention just a few days ago Fabolous and Ne-Yo joined him in the studio to lace a remix to “You Be Killin’ Em.”

Now, by the powers of NextSelection, Ryan Leslie offers up a new song he wrote, arranged and produced then recorded at Roc The Mic Studios in New York in the name of historial French icon “Joan of Arc.” As with much of the Grammy nominated singer/songwriter’s recent material the track sees R. Les rapping throughout, casually delivering lines like, “Obfuscating the real reason we’ve grown apart / you played the victim so well – Joan of Arc.”

Ryan tweeted on March 12, announcing his new album’s looming pre-order availability at the end of May, “Being indie is awesome. I can do anything I want when I want.”

Today’s ‘awesome’ perk? The casual use of words like “obfuscating” in a rap song by a pop-R&B artist. #Winning
