Rita Ora gives acoustic preview of “Roc The Life” [Video] | New Music

Pop music has, and always will, be both weeded out with manufactured voices and fertile with pure talent. The latter certainly rings true in the case of Rita Ora. The Albanian-British songtress and one of the most promising talents on Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation clique has experienced unsurpassed success since her breakout appearance on DJ Fresh‘s “Hot Right Now” hit YouTube in December of last year, accumulating over 15 million views since.

Stripping away the infectious basslines and glossy party aesthetics, Rita gives an acoustic preview of “Roc The Life”, a cut from her forthcoming debut album, as part of the VEVO LIFT segment. “‘Roc The Life’ is actually one of my favourite songs on my album. It’s about just taking control of your own life and rocking the hell out of it,” Rita details, before giving an impassioned performance of her single.

In the second part of the clip, the Roc Nation singer unmasks her debut UK single, the Tinie Tempah-featuring “R.I.P.“, and projects it over nothing but an acoustic guitar and the rhythm of the beat. She also shares creative insight into the complexities of an acoustic performance and how to nail a cover.
