Rihanna tells Vogue: “When it feels good to you nothing else matters”

Rihanna covers Vogue for their 10th annual Shape edition and speaks on the woman she’s become since dealing with her well publicised break up with Chris Brown, opening up about various topics that changed her from pop princess to the edgy artist she’s become, touching on the strained relationship with her father, moving on from Matt Kemp, being content with her body and being a role model.

“It made me look at the world in a much bigger way because my life was suddenly superduper magnified; all eyes were on me. I needed that in my life to know how to say, ‘F—k off.’ To know how to keep my head high even in the worst situations.

“I keep using the word unapologetic. But there is a freedom that has come with all of that. Where you feel like you don’t have to make an excuse for being yourself.”

Considering all that she’s been through, this has to be one of the realest quotes I’ve read from Rihanna;

“When something feels real, you don’t have to make any apologies for it. When it feels good to you nothing else matters. Everything else is just noise.”

The rest of the interview will be available in Vogue in April.
