Rihanna, Adele top list of Billboard Music Awards finalists | Music News

After recently being named two of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME Magazine, Rihanna and Adele continue their reign of worldwide domination by leading the finalists for the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

Homegrown talent Adele is a finalist in 18 of the categories, including Top Artist, Top Female Artist, and Top Billboard 200 Artist.

Rihanna — who was last year’s leader — amasses recognition in 13 categories, including Top Artist, Top Female Artist and Top R&B artist, while Lil’ Wayne and Lady Gaga tied with 10 categories apiece.

The show is set to air from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on May 20th and will see performances from the likes of Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, LMFAO, and The Wanted.
