Raekwon f/ Altrina Renee – “86” | New Music

Raekwon recently announced via Twitter that he’ll be dropping his Lost Jewelry EP on December 13th, and with that date penned in the diary we have some new music from the legendary Wu-Tang emcee.

“86” is a laid-back follow-up to Raekwon’s latest work on the Wu-Block album and the “Don’t Look Around Freestyle” which we heard from him in early November. The Chef takes us back to the warmth of summer with the help of DJ Thoro’s beat and Altrina Renee’s warm vocals, as he paints a mixture of domestic images (“we in a grown house, trees look along, I built a Dutch-master train set, kid relax you home”) and OG moments (“slinging some ‘caine in the mix”), also finding time to name-drop the likes of  “Bruno Mars… The LOX, Sting, Nas’ pops…”

With another new solo project likely to drop early next year and the possibility of a Wu-Tang reunion for their 20th anniversary, let’s hope this is the first of many new tracks from the veteran rapper:
