Pusha T discusses his collaboration with Odd Future | Interview

A few weeks ago, whilst filming the video for “My God”, off his Fear Of God mixtape, Pusha T was paid a visit by Odd Future frontman Tyler, the Creator. Someone on the set caught a picture of the two and, as expected, uploaded it to the internets and as a result the blogosphere became awash with rumors of a collaboration between Pusha and the Californian collective. During an interview with The BVX, Pusha Ton spoke about the rumors surrounding the proposed collaboration and granting his fans wish by working with G.O.O.D. Music CEO and founder Kanye West.

BJ: Odd Future’s rise is pretty amazing, right?
PT:
Tyler’s such a fan, came to our video and said, ‘Yo, I have three beats that I made for you … and just know they’re for you. Please … hear it.’ He sends them over … I was like this is aight, this is aight, but the third one. He said, ‘I put a verse on it and Hodgy put a verse on it.’ [You’re] gonna be so amazed at the marriage, some things don’t always mesh man. But these guys are super-super talented. I can’t wait for the world to see each of our talents collide.

BJ: Speaking of collaborations, you’ve worked with Pharrell Williams as a member of the Clipse and now Kanye West as a solo artist. No disrespect to Pharrell, but do you feel it was necessary to link with Kanye in order to resuscitate your career?
PT:
The fans wanted to hear that collaboration. I feel like, me and Pharrell together, I don’t feel we miss at all. Us two together make amazing, amazing music with more to come.
