Omarion unveiled as newest addition to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music | Music News
With all the hype prior to the MMG conference in New York (which wrapped up moments ago), you knew Rick Ross had a surprise in store for us. No one could have seen this one coming, though.
In addition to announcing the release date for the label’s Self Made Vol. 2 compilation (June 26th), French Montana‘s debut album, Excuse My French (July 17th), Meek Mill‘s debut, Dreams and Nightmares (August 28th) and Rozay’s highly anticipated LP, God Forgives, I Don’t (July 31st), the Bawse unveiled Omarion as the newest addition to the MMG roster.
Kitted out with in a leather jacket, gold chain and shades (and a blonde stripe in his hair to top it off), the R&B vet took to the podium to talk on his signing, where he handed himself the nikckname “Maybach O” (expect that to be used heavily in jokes to come).
It appears to be a somewhat bizarre move initially, considering Ma$e, Rockie Fresh and Chief Keef were tipped to don the MMG chain, but expect Ross’ brand to add ladies jams to its arsenal – Omarion is prepping a 5-track EP which will arrive “very soon”.
