Famously outspoken DJ, radio host and all-round hip hop personality Peter Rosenberg continues his Noisemakers series by releasing the footage of his 30-plus minute interview with Nas from SXSW.

You really don’t have to reiterate the legacy of the Queensbridge emcee to Rosenberg (well, he does himself anyway, for what makes a deserving introduction), as the Hot 97 host is well-known for being a loyal true school hip hop head.

Diving into topics, Nasty Nas speaks on his start in hip hop, elaborating on linking up with MC Serch, Columbia Records and Large Professor early on, his relationship with his icons (later revealing who he considers to be the greatest emcees before his time – no spoilers, though), his “simple” aspirations and plans behind his venture into rap (“I never said this before in my life,” he adds) plus much, much more.

Enjoy the next half an hour.
