Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ debuts at #1 on Billboard | Music News

Nicki Minaj just did it on ’em. The latest edition of sales tracker Hits Daily Double confirms that the Young Money first lady’s recently-released sophomore opus, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, has debuted at #1 on the American charts with 251,551 copies sold since its April 3 release. She takes the spot from Madonna, whose MDNA album held the top spot last week.

The album also nabbed the top spot on the UK album chart after leapfrogging Labrinth’s Electronic Earth, giving the MC bragging rights on both sides of the pond.

Minaj told NBC’s Today show last week that her new project was “a better album” than her debut due to its being “so much more well-rounded” and “way more exciting.”

On the eve of taking the HDD pole position, Minaj sat down with ABC’s Nightline for an in-depth interview. Watch that here.
