Nicki Minaj Announces November 23rd Release Date For Debut Album, ‘Pink Friday’

Young Money’s first lady Nicki Minaj has announced that her debut solo album, revealed to be titled Pink Friday, is due for release on November 23rd (the Tuesday before ‘Black Friday’ in the US).

With a passionate international following, goodness knows how many Ustreamers were watching the self proclaimed Barbie emcee’s live announcement last night. (Numbers, anyone?)

‘”To carry on a great tradition of Black Friday, we are going to switch it up this year in honor of the Nicki Minaj album and call that day Pink Friday, and call my album Pink Friday,” Nicki announced in her British accent,’ reports Rap-Up.

Having made a lukewarm splash with her “Massive Attack” debut single earlier this year despite a string of ear-catching mixtapes and collaborative features, followed by the unexpected success of number one single “Your Love,” many hope that her forthcoming album meets and validates our expectations of the most promising female rapper to emerge in the mainstream in years.

Pink Friday will tell. I, for one, am looking forward to it…
