Nicki Minaj announces free New York concert to make up for Hot 97 Summer Jam no-show | Music News

Back in June, Nicki Minaj pulled out of the Hot 97 Summer Jam due to controversial comments made from DJ and well-known hip-hop purist Peter Rosenberg over her “bullsh*t” “Starships” song. While Minaj’s fans (commonly referred to as “Barbz”) suffered most, the Young Money Queen Bee looks to kiss and make up as she announces a one-off concert in New York on August 14th. What’s more, the gig will be free.

The show, which is listed at a “secret” location, will coincide with her appearance on The Today Show. In a more recent tweet, the pop star stated that the start time will be pushed back to accommodate this TV appearance.

According to Minaj’s website, tickets can be obtained by the first 1,500 fans in line at the soon-to-be-confirmed venue from 12pm on the day of the show. Local radio stations including Z100, WBLI, 92.3, Power 105.1 and, ironically, Hot 97 will be giving away tickets, too.

For those unable to attend, Pepsi.com will be livestreaming the concert via their website and Nicki Minaj’s Twitter page.
