Chris Brown European Tour Cancelled *UPDATED*

Earlier this evening Chris Brown announced on twitter (before swiftly deleting the post) that his European leg of his Fan Appreciation tour, that was due to start on Wednesday 9th June in Glasgow and arrive at London on 13th June has been cancelled.

Under most circumstances a cancelled show (or tour) would have perhaps not be newsworthy but according to the R&B crooner, the tour will not be going ahead due to him being denied access into Europe.

Via BBC News:

US singer Chris Brown has been forced to postpone his UK tour after being denied a visa to enter the country, it has been confirmed.

Brown was refused permission on the grounds of being guilty of a serious criminal offence, the Home Office said.

Tahirah’s two-pence after the jump:

It seems a little far-fetched to imagine Chris has been denied entry to the whole of Europe (LOL contrary to what his tweet might suggest, Europe, of course, is a continent with many countries), and there are speculations that the tour cancellation could also be due to low ticket sales. Personally I did question if perhaps the shows were a little overzealous for a come-back tour. With London dates priced upwards of £36 before booking fee, tickets were pricey even for a Chris Brown show before the “RihannaGate” situation. However, what is evident that his career is still being severely affected nearly a year and a half after his incident with Rihanna.

Hopefully Chris Brown will soon be able to flourish creatively and work free of backlash. Luckily, not all areas of the singer’s lifestyle has been affected following the “incident”.
