Chicago collective Kids These Days defies conventional preconceptions of categorization and genre with the release of their 15 track project, Traphouse Rock. Take track three for example, “Ghetto,” as the talented clique engages listeners in a tug-of-war between genres, transitioning from swing jazz to acoustic folk to hard rock and back within a matter of minutes. Listeners will notice many familiar melodies and soundscapes such as Nirvana‘s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” recreated in a refreshing way.

Embarking on a US tour with Asher Roth starting on November 1st, energetic emcee Vic Mensa, bluesy power singer Liam Cunningham and jazzy pop crooner Macie Stewart form the vocal nucleus of the band that also includes trumpeter Nico Segal, trombonist J.P. Floyd, drummer Greg Landfair, and bassist Lane Beckstrom.
