It was at a Floetry concert in London years ago that I was first introduced to trombonist Jeff Bradshaw‘s music, then performing with the Brit soul duo with his own Bone Deep album [2003] on its way [which featured “Beyond The Stars” with Glenn Lewis and “Can You Come Over” with Carol Riddick among several exquisite gems].

So it’s sweet to hear Marsha Ambrosius‘ distinct vocals on Bradshaw’s new single “Got Til It’s Gone,” taking on Janet Jackson‘s ’97 classic of the same name, this version made to celebrate “the spirit of the people of New Orleans” and is a call to action to keep the rich musical heritage of the city alive. Check out the video below.

Bone Deep‘s still well very much worth copping, and Bradshaw’s new album Bon Appetit – chock full of more guest features including Raheem Devaughn, The Floacist, Kindred The Family Soul, PJ Morton, Coko and Ms Jade – is set for release on April 24; pre-order via jeffbradshaw.com. Talented man.
