Jamie xx re-emerges with some new solo music this Spring, in the form of a double single release featuring “Girl” and “Sleep Sound” coming out through Young Turks in May.

Flurrying harp melodies herald the beginning of “Sleep Sound,” soon joined by a gently thumping beat, soft and dreamy instrumental rhythms and splices of a repeated monosyllabic chant from a voice presumed to be Alicia Keys; which makes sense, given Jamie co-produced a song on her 2012 album, Girl On Fire (“When It’s All Over”).

It’s been around three years since the last solo release from the London-based producer, known widely as one third of Mercury Music Prize winning band The xx, who are currently performing a set of 25 shows at Park Avenue Armory in New York.

“Sleep Sound” first leaked late last year and also featured in Jamie’s Live at Night + Day Berlin mix, but will be formally released on May 5th, along with “Girl,” on 12″ vinyl and as a digital bundle.
