The original Boy In Da Corner, Dizzee Rascal returns with some new visuals for his latest single “Love This Town,” as he dons a balaclava to take to the streets of London, accompanied by some friends with the intention of causing a ‘Riot!!’ – we must add it’s certainly not what you’re expecting.
The East London rap star delivers some accomplished, rapid-fire rhymes over this Red-One-produced track touching on subjects such as his come-up, from being a “local boy” to a “jetsetter” doing it “worldwide” and the ethnic diversity of the capital. “New York, LA, Tokyo, Berlin, Miami, Rio, Milan, Ibiza/ I love all these places, but there’s no place like home/ I love my city,” he raps, proclaiming his love for his home town.
The accompanying visuals contrast well with the overall tone of the track, and with a catchy hook delivered by Sweden-based singer/songwriter Teddy Sky, the single bears a somewhat anthemic feel as the 2003 Mercury Prize winner attempts to send out a real message.
