NEW MUSIC From Geno Young – “Paper Thin”, from forthcoming album Ear Hustler

Something brand new from Dallas-born soulful singer, songwriter and producer Geno Young‘s forthcoming sophomore album, Ear Hustler. Set for international release on June 6th, 2010, Ear Hustler is a “more musically aggressive” follow up to The Ghetto Symphony (AB Records, 2004).

Aside from his solo work, the Howard University graduate has also produced for N’Dambi (‘Tunin’ Up’, ‘Co-Signin’), Erykah Badu (‘Time’s A Wastin’, ‘Orange Moon” – Mama’s Gun) and Carmen Rogers (Free).

“Paper Thin” is a remake of MC Lyte’s Hip Hop classic. The song is about  a person who doesn’t believe that words that their lover has to say,” Geno explains the track to SoulCulture. “I really have always loved that song and it has always been one of my favorite Hip Hop songs.  I just wanted to remake a hip hop classic with a lil twist.  So I worked with my friend producer and DJ Ernie G and we came up with this interpretation.

On the subject of his forthcoming album, Young describes Ear Hustler as “a continuation of the music that i make… I believe it will be a lot more musically aggressive than The Ghetto Symphony. There will be some guest features… I’m gonna keep em a secret for now!”
