Nelly part of group sued over unpaid loan | News

Rap superstar Nelly has been named in a suit filed by St. Louis’ Truman Bank as part of a group of investors alleged to owe over $2 million dollars on a promissory note, Courthouse News Service reports.

The suit claims that Nelly is part of the Third Street Investors group along with former NFL superstar Marshall Faulk, former NBA power forward Darius Miles and others, and that the group guaranteed the loan. The bank says the group owes $2.045 million. This suit is the first step in their collection action.

Third Street Investors is the group behind St. Louis’ now-defunct Skybox Sports Bar & Grill, an entertainment venue and restaurant that survived for 18 months between 2008 and 2009 before dwindling business forced it to close. Two more clubs operated and closed in the same space subsequent to Skybox’s closing, and the space is currently home to the Vatterott College Ex’treme Institute by Nelly – St Louis, a music recording school.
