Ne-Yo recently sat down with Wall Street Journalfor another open and honest interview, in which he discussed a range of topics, including the four main musical inspirations that shaped his career calling them ‘the four kings’, initially hating his singing voice, his mother’s musical influence on him, working with Michael Jackson and his thoughts of the current state of the music business.
“Nowadays talent takes a backseat to controversy, takes a backseat to scandal – and I’ve never been a controversial or scandalous person.”
He also spoke on expanding his brand [including a new hat and clothing line], being a new father and the stresses of his kindness sometimes being taken for a weakness. Watch the full video below..
