Nas f/ Mary J. Blige – ‘Reach Out’ (Radio Rip) | New Music

I guess Nas can’t really be surprised at the leaks tearing from Life Is Good considering how hugely anticipated the album is. After getting our hands on “Cherry Wine” featuring a graceful contribution from the late Amy Winehouse yesterday (and the CDQ version earlier today), it’s the Mary J. Blige-assisted “Reach Out” that becomes the latest early release from the LP.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who was immediately drawn to this particular cut in the snippeted album stream we heard yesterday. Rooted in that ’90s R&B/Rap sound, Mary serves as the perfect compliment to a rugged New York rapper, just like she did in ’95 with Method Man for “I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By”. You might even be fooled into thinking was an It Was Written left over.

It’s a radio rip for now, m’fraid, but stay tuned for a CDQ version to surface soon. Life Is Good hits shelves on July 17th.
