Hip Hop, like every music genre, goes through periods where its listeners drone on, bellyache and pretty much denounce H.E.R “current” generation of practitioners as emcees whom lack skill, real Hip Hop authenticity and a whole list of other typical backpacker complaints I care less to list [Note: I used to be a backpack Hop Hop head myself].

However, with the recent emergence of J.Cole, A$AP Rocky, Kendrick LamarBig K.R.I.T.Meek MillMac Miller, Action BronsonFreddie GibbsScHoolBoy Q has weathered the storm but the exception of say K.Dot [and his Black Hippy brethren and probably A$AP] how many of the aforementioned artists are or will be genuine game changers?

Currently within a few corners of the East, Mid-west, West coast there are a handful of teenagers and early twenty somethings, such as Joey BadA$$, Pro.EraClear Soul Forces, and the Flatbush Zombies (not forgetting say Earl Sweatshirt) that could arguably be said future game changers. Lyrically skilled 18-year-old Manhattan rapper Patrick “Wiki” Morales is another prime example of this young generational Hip Hop push of emcees people need to pay attention to.

Last October the curly haired rhymer released his excellent 1993 EP [Stream below] but it went virtually unnoticed that is until he decided to bless the Internets with the visuals for “Wikispeaks,” [See below]. The Creative Control directed street clip features the spit kicker’s bolshy, raw delivery complimented by his word manipulating rhyme style that’ll no doubt please fans of Hip Hop’s young lyrically strong generational push. Wiki, along with Joey BadA$$, Earl, Flatbush Zombies and Pro. Era are indeed the future…
