Weekly Wrap-Up: Aaliyah, Adele, Wretch 32 x Talib Kweli

This week on SoulCulture, Wretch 32 talked with us about the UK music industry, and we reviewed Jessie J’s live show in London, and Talib Kweli’s latest album, Gutter Rainbows. Music news came from Nicki Minaj, who caused a frenzy with her first trip to London, UK rapper K. Koke, who signed to Roc Nation, Dr. Dre over the (near mythical) Detox album and more.

Almost an ipod’s worth of new music dropped from Travis Barker, Raphael Saadiq, Busta Rhymes, Adele, Professor Green and more. Finally, SoulCulture paid tribute to Aaliyah, who would’ve turned 32 on 16th January, with a Return To The Classics feature on her last album, the 2001 self-titled set, Aaliyah, and we spoke to J. Cole and Drake about Aaliyah’s influence.
