The Alchemist f/ MidaZ The Beast – “Don Seymour’s Theme” | Music Video

When The Alchemist‘s third studio album Russian Roulette dropped in July, “Don Seymour’s Theme” was undoubtedly one of the stand-out tracks from the West Coast producer’s latest collection. For those who haven’t heard it, the track sees Orlando rapper MidaZ The Beast flexing his lyrical muscles over a stop-start, sax-driven beat. Think of it as an energetic upgrade from the sort of instrumentals Alchemist’s buddy Action Bronson luxuriates over.

Now the visuals for the track have premiered over at Pitchfork, and they’re just as playful as anything Action could conjure up. In keeping with the The Alchemist’s quirky musical imagination, director X:144 mixes clips from old cartoons with shots of modern day Moscow (in keeping with the title) and, ahem…a barbie being touched up. Whilst The Alchemist himself doesn’t make an appearance, MidaZ raps for the camera, captured through a multi-coloured lens, and a number of strange individuals keep him company.
