Scrufizzer – “What’s New” | Music Video

New visuals for “What’s New” from Scrufizzer taken from the Stay Fizzy EP. The video sees the West London MC take us on a tour of the ends, popping into the local off licence on his travels – some great shots in this one directed by Elmino.

Just the other day, I was (perhaps unfairly) bemoaning Scrufizzer‘s lack of substance, saying I wanted to hear some tracks that prove there’s more to him than just flow. This track definitely offers some of that – he forgoes the Busta Rhymes-esque party tricks in favour of some introspection and reflection.

Really though, could Scru sound any more like Dizzee Rascal if he tried? He’s doing a pitch-perfect impersonation of Boy In Da Corner era Dizzee. Remember Tinie Tempah‘s “Wifey Riddim” vocal where he channeled Dizzee? Like that but worse. Tinie switched up his voice massively between then and now, and I don’t think he’d have become the global star he is today if he still sounded like he did on “Wifey”. As good as that flow is and as much as I do like Scrufizzer, I hope he stops sounding so much like Dizzee.
