Saigon‘s sophomore album The Greatest Story Never Told Chapter 2: Bread & Circuses (tracklist here) drops tomorrow (on Election Day) and it’s shaping up to be a mature, politically-aware showing from The Yardfather.
After dropping three video–accompanied singles already, Saigon’s back with a fourth, entitled “Blown Away“, which comes complete with a hard-hitting political message. The visuals show Sai giving an impassioned black history lesson to youths, whilst clips of martyred Civil Rights campaigners and socially conscious artists play out in the background. As he tells the tragic stories of MLK, Huey Newton, Marvin Gaye and more, the New York rapper struggles to keep the attentions of the younger generation, until eventually, his own assumption of a revolutionary role has Saigon staring down the barrel of a gun.

Sai’s also dropped a 16-minute album sampler which allows us deeper insight into the project. With the “Vote Saigon” tagline and the deep subject matter of some of these songs, Bread & Circuses will be well worth a listen. Pre-order it here and have a listen to the snippets below:
