Robin Thicke covers Icona Pop’s “I Love It” for BBC Live Lounge [Video]

Blurred Lines shaped up to be one of the most hotly anticipated R&B albums this summer, and in the wake of its release Robin Thicke has just performed a cover of Icona Pop‘s “I Love It” in a performance for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.

Rather than taking on the heady electronica and thumping bass of the original, Robin Thicke completely strips the song down, exposing the beauty of its melodic structure and lyrics and playing it as a ballad rather than a club track. Singing and playing the piano, Thicke is accompanied only by guitar, backing vocals and some light percussion, letting his silky vocals take charge and effortlessly deliver the song in an original and touching manner.
