Onyx return with “Classic Terror” | Official Music Video

Fact: I blame British Pop group Take That for giving Boyzone, Five and even Damage (sorry fellas) the idea of reuniting many years after their stars have faded. However, what I won’t do is “blame” Take That for respected Hip Hop group Onyx making a much needed return back to Hip Hop.

Having released critically acclaimed albums Bacdafucup and All We Got Iz Us the group took a break during which frontmen and cousins Fredro Starr and Sticky Fingaz appeared in several movies, including Clockers, Sunset Park, and Dead Presidents.

After making a come back with Shut ‘Em Down, the former Def Jam recording artists disbanded once again leaving Fredro and Fingaz to further concentrate on their Hollywood careers. However, they made a go at it in 2002 and 2003 with two the critically panned albums, Bacdafucup Part II and Triggernometry respectively.

Almost two decades after the release of their debut album, the New York bred duo (formerly a quartet, as Big DS left during the recording of the group’s sophomore album, and a trio Sonsee who hasn’t returned to the group) are making a comeback, after their “false start” back in 2009.

“Classic Terror”, from Onyx’s forthcoming album 100MAD, compiles clips taken from the group’s European tours over the past three years. Thus far, there has no been street date set for their six official album.
